Once in a while I unlock a post, just so everyone who hasn’t yet become a patreon supporter can get a full look at what I’m up to here on a typical weekly post. That’s right. I’m that nice. Enjoy!
Saga of a Doomed Universe II:
Here’s rough layouts for two pages of SOADU II, issue 2, which is designed as a climactic scene that deserved both pages. It’s technically not a double-page spread, but since one of the character overlaps both pages, I’m calling it that.
High Strangeness:
Just chugging along on this High Strangeness Redux project, here’s the latest re-inked page for you. If you’re new to joining my Patreon page, I hope you’ll dig in and read more about what this project is all about. The short explanation? I’m re-inking the entire graphic novel because I no longer own the original art and for the past almost 30 years, I’ve only had mid-resolution scans of the art. Which means I couldn’t reasonably re-publish it, either online or in print, without the lines appearing fuzzy and somewhat blown out. So, what you’re seeing here are ultra-high res inks that will look stunning across different mediums. I’m pretty excited to see this GN published again, and this time in the format and quality it deserves.

Lots of Malibu Comics art for sale this week:
Malibu Comics Archive:
This latest addition to the Malibu Comics archive includes:
1. A page from Star Trek:DS9. Pencils by Rob Davis and my inks. Sadly, I don’t have the coloring credits but they did a superb job.
2. Cover art for Exiles #3. Pencils by Ron Phipps, my inks and colors by Robert Alvord. This was my first Ultraverse assignment. Prior to this project, I was inking Protectors, one of their other super-hero titles on the chopping block. It was good timing for me, since it afforded me the room to get comfortable inking monthly books before being moved over to the Ultraverse line.
3. This is a drawing of Prime, my pencils and inks. Unfortunately, I am not sure who colored this. Moose Baumann colored a lot of Malibu art and was always willing to color my little side projects. I was putting together a penciling portfolio around this time and this piece might have been part of it. It seems logical that Moose may have colored this as well, but the signature is not legible.
