In 2006 I was working hard to develop a retro 1970’s/80’s comic art style for a project that eventually evolved into Saga of a Doomed Universe. I’ve kept that style ever since, mainly because I have such a reverence for that era of comics and it honestly just feels like a natural way to draw. Here’s a couple of warm-up sketches, likely referencing comic book great Sal Buscema.
