I decided to hand letter the spooky alien word balloons, since I can’t find the original font I had used back in 1998. I’ve also been toying with the idea of hand-lettering over the digital lettering, just to give the book a more organic look. But I have to choose my battles, and so decided I need to maintain my current efficient methods of lettering comics. Which means all the lettering, unless it’s something extra special, will be digital. Fortunately, I’m a better letterer now than way back when, and I intend to refine things once I get into the lettering stage of this project.
I still have a bit of work to do on this page, specifically panel 2, which currently has a blank newspaper page but will display a headline featuring news on the near-fatal car accident of our main hero, Janine.
